Hospitality in Institutions and Health Association of Kenya (HIHAK) is the official voice of professionals providing hospitality services in Hospitals, Schools, Colleges, Universities and all other institutions.

Membership is affordable and open to any business or individual offering hospitality services  who wants to benefit from the services, educational programs and advocacy on governmental issues offered by the HIHAK.

Our Services

What we do

  • To liaise with the relevant department to administer a comprehensive code of ethical standards and procedures to guide professional behavior;
  • To provide support for Continuing Professional Development through learning opportunities
  • To publish professional journals or magazines
  • To expand and form branches within and or outside the Republic of Kenya for the furtherance of its aims and objectives.
  • To deal with complaints against professionals and implement disciplinary procedures
  • To raise the standard of the hospitality service by interchange of personnel, assistance in staffing of hospitals and institutions
  • Influence the promotion of the highest professional standards in housekeeping, laundry and catering management in the hospitality industry
  • Develop the high standing and reputation of the members and the Association within the hospitality industry
  • Provide the membership with professional updates and technical guidance on issues relevant to the hospitality sector
  • Encourage professional development for all members to maintain the high standards of competence and governance expected by the sector
  • Enable good ideas, best practice and solutions to be shared within the sector
  • Encourage networking between members at regular meetings and social functions.

OUR PRESIDENT

I hereby take this great opportunity to appreciate all members of this Association for the wise ideas and good understanding to form this welfare.

It’s long overdue and therefore it’s of good will to initiate and start an advocacy for the members. This is a nonprofit making association which has bylaws to create a good understanding and join the members of the same profession.

I therefore wish to welcome all who have joined and those who wish to join to walk together, think together and reason together in this career of hospitality. With this few remarks wish to appreciate everyone who has joined and plead to recruit more members.
